What should c-store inventory software do?
Convenience store inventory software should reduce stock on every scan, warn when an item drops below its alert level, turn those warnings into purchase orders by supplier, receive deliveries against those orders, track expiry on fresh items and keep a ledger of what you owe each vendor. Counting the whole store should be rare; counting one category a week is enough.
C-stores buy from many suppliers in small, frequent drops: beer and soda route drivers, snack distributors, tobacco wholesalers, the bakery. Each delivery is a chance for a short case nobody notices, or an invoice paid twice.
A week of stock, day by day
- Monorder
Raise purchase orders from low-stock alerts
Items below their alert level are listed by supplier. Turn the list into a purchase order and send it to the vendor.
- WedDSD
Receive direct-store deliveries at the door
Beer, soda, snacks and bread arrive by route driver. Check the delivery against the order, note shorts and damages, and stock goes up before the cases reach the cooler.
- Thupay
Record the invoice and what you owe
Each supplier has a ledger: purchases, payments, credits and balance. Pay by cash from the drawer or by bank, on the record.
- Friexpiry
Check what expires this week
Dairy, sandwiches, bread: items with lot and expiry dates show up before they go bad, so you can mark them down or pull them.
- Suncount
Count a few shelves, not the whole store
Cycle-count one category a week. Adjustments are recorded with a reason (damaged, expired, theft) so shrink becomes visible.
Stock transfers between stores
Out of a fast seller at one location? Transfer from another, with a record at both ends and stock right in both.
Bulk price updates
A distributor raises prices on a brand: update every item in that brand or category at once, per store or everywhere.
Bonus items
Record free cases a supplier adds to a delivery so your cost per unit stays right.
Adjustments with reasons
Damaged, expired, stolen, used in store. Shrink by reason, every month.
Shelf labels
Print barcode and price labels when prices change.

Inventory questions
How do convenience stores manage inventory?
Convenience stores manage inventory by tracking stock per item as it sells, setting low-stock alerts, ordering by supplier, receiving direct-store deliveries against orders, watching expiry on fresh items and counting a category at a time. The POS does the arithmetic so the owner only checks the exceptions.
Can I receive DSD deliveries on the POS?
Yes. Open the purchase order or start a receiving from the supplier, scan or enter what arrived, note shorts and damages, and save. Stock updates immediately.
Does it track cases and single units?
Yes. Buy in cases or cartons and sell in units: set the purchase unit and the selling unit, and receiving a case adds the right number of units to stock.
Can I track expiry dates?
Yes. Items can carry lot numbers and expiry dates, with alerts before they expire. Useful for dairy, sandwiches, bread and medicines.
Can I move stock between my stores?
Yes. Stock transfers move items from one location to another with a record at both ends. Multi-Store owners also see stock for every store in one view.
Do you keep supplier balances?
Yes. Every supplier has a ledger of purchases, payments and returns, so you know what you owe each route driver and distributor.
Can the POS suggest what to order?
Low-stock alerts per item and per location list what needs ordering by supplier. You set the alert level; the POS tells you when you hit it.
How do I import my current products and stock?
Export a CSV from your old register and import it: product name, barcode, category, cost, price and opening stock. We do the first import for you, free.
Can I print shelf labels?
Yes. Print barcode and price labels for shelves or items on a label printer, with the layout you choose.
