The register is never the slow part of the line
Barcode scanning POS for the coffee rush: one scan per item, quick keys for hot food and fountain drinks, keyboard shortcuts, split tender and a customer display. Every plan, every market.
- Works with most USB and Bluetooth scanners
- Quick keys for items without barcodes
- Customer-facing display
What makes a convenience store checkout fast?
Fast c-store checkout comes from three things: every packaged item scans in one read, everything without a barcode sits one tap away on a quick key, and payment finishes with one key for exact cash or card. Add keyboard shortcuts for the regulars and the line moves at the speed of the scanner.
The coffee rush and the after-work beer run are where c-stores win or lose customers. A register that makes the cashier hunt through menus for a breakfast taco loses the next three people in line to the store across the street.
Keyboard shortcuts cashiers actually use
Every shortcut is configurable. These are the defaults we set up on day one.
- F2Quantity
- F4Price check
- F6Suspend / recall sale
- F8Cash, exact
- F9Card
- F10Split tender
- Ctrl + DDiscount on line
- EscVoid last line
Quick keys for the counter
Coffee by size, fountain drinks, hot food, ice, propane exchange, phone cards. Group them by colour and put the top ten on the first screen.
Your price book
Import from your old register, then bulk-edit prices by category or brand. Multi-store owners push one price book to every store or set prices per location.
Mix and match
"2 for" deals and category discounts apply automatically at the register.
Split tender
Cash, card through your processor, EBT through your processor, store credit, in one sale.
Returns and voids
Manager PIN for voids after payment. Every void is on the shift report.
Hardware for fast checkout
A 2D imager scanner reads phone screens and licences as well as product barcodes. A presentation scanner on the counter lets customers scan their own items while you bag. See the hardware guide for what works.

Checkout questions
How fast is barcode checkout on this POS?
As fast as your scanner reads. A scan adds the item instantly, a second scan of the same item increases the quantity, and exact-cash or card finishes the sale with one key. The goal is that the register is never the slowest part of the line.
What barcodes does it read?
Standard retail barcodes: UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-13 and EAN-8, plus Code 128 and the codes printed by your own label printer. Most USB and Bluetooth scanners act as a keyboard, so they work without drivers.
What about items without a barcode?
Hot food, fountain drinks, coffee by size, ice and loose items go on quick keys: big buttons on the POS screen, grouped the way your counter works. You can also print your own barcode labels for shelf items.
Can I customise keyboard shortcuts?
Yes. The POS screen has configurable keyboard shortcuts for quantity, payment types, discounts, suspend and recall, so experienced cashiers barely touch the mouse.
Can a customer pay part cash, part card?
Yes. Split tender takes any mix of cash, card through your processor, EBT through your processor where you are authorised, gift card or store credit in one sale.
What if a barcode is not in the system?
The POS tells the cashier the code is unknown and lets a manager add the item there and then, with price, category and age flag, so the next customer does not wait.
Can I hold a sale and serve the next customer?
Yes. Suspend the sale, ring the next customer, and recall the first one when they come back from the cooler.
Does it show the total to the customer?
Yes, on a second screen or a customer-facing display: items, total and change due, in the language you choose.
Will it slow down with thousands of products?
No. A typical c-store price book is a few thousand items; search and scan stay instant at that size. Multi-store chains share one price book across stores.
